Vaginal delivery in SARS-CoV-2 infected pregnant women in Northern Italy: a retrospective analysis

Retrospective study on mode of delivery and neonatal outcome of 42 women infected with COVID-19 during the third trimester or at term in Northern Italy. The general results show that vaginal delivery occurred in about 60% of women. Although post-partum infection cannot be excluded, and further data is needed, this study suggests that vaginal delivery may be associated with a low risk of intrapartum SARS-Cov-2 transmission to the newborn
