COVID-19 lockdown dropped the rate of paediatric asthma admissions

During the first 5 weeks of the state’s lockdown for COVID-19, there was a 71% to 78% decrease in pediatric asthma admissions at Ljubljana Children’s Hospital (Slovenia) compared with the same time periods in the last 3 years. Whether this drop was related to the parents’ fear of attending healthcare facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic or the substantial air quality improvement during the lockdown, remains elusive.
